The most amazing thing happened tonight. It was a profound demonstration that no matter what happens, we should never jump to conclusions based on past experience but just allow events to unfold and be revealed in their own time. The law of the universe, cause and effect, has the ability to put the pieces of this puzzle called Life together in ways that we may not understand immediately but when we have faith in the process, that things are working out behind the scenes, and that more will be revealed, we are able to reap all of the benefits and blessings available to us when we remove expectations from the equation and put aside limitations from a previous perspective.

It was 7 p.m. and not one person had yet shown up for the circle, which was unusual, to say the least. It wasn’t raining or windy and there was no apparent reason or explanation. Our first impulse was to think that if no one came in about 10 minutes, we would leave but then, after discussing it, we realized that many times people come late for one reason or another and that it would not be wise to make such a hasty decision without more information. We would, in fact, be making an assumption with incomplete data. So we waited.

About 10 minutes later, a car pulled up and a friend, who is also a reiki master, whom we had not seen in months and never expected to see on this particular night, got out. He brought a lady friend who was experiencing dental pain and “needed reiki”. We chatted for a few minutes and spoke about what was going on in her life and how it related to the law of attraction and one’s ability to keep an attitude of gratitude, especially when our perception dictates otherwise. I showed her a paper that I had written earlier in the day called “Gratitude will set you free!”

“Here, this is for you. I didn’t know it at the time but I am certain now that you are the reason I wrote this today.”

She took the paper and was amazed at how much the exact words were meant for her, at that very moment. We then proceeded with a short meditation and OjimaReiki session, followed by some empowering affirmations. The two of them left, full of gratitude that they had been in the area, stopped by to see us, and received such loving, compassionate energy. It was awesome.

Gilbert and I looked at each other and smiled and recalled that before, when we had the OjimaReiki & Gifts center, there were times when only one person showed up for a session and invariably, afterwards, we knew the reason – that whomever was there was supposed to be there because at that moment in time that person required special attention. That’s why nobody else came until later. The universe knew and the law of attraction was at work.

The same thing happened again tonight. Within seconds after those two people thanked us and left, two more people showed up, then another and another, etc. For one reason or another, everyone else came late on this night, so that we could have the private time necessary to devote to the first two who came. Of course, we had no way of knowing or anticipating what the universe had in store. We were not privy to its plan.

The only thing we are certain of now, is that if we had left early, we would have interrupted the process by not allowing the events to unfold naturally. And if we had done that, we would never have experienced the profound demonstration of the Law at work and we would have displaced every other person’s experience of that night merely by not having the patience and the confidence to “know” that everything is Perfect and works out perfectly in its own time when we get out of the way and don’t interfere or impose our will on circumstances that occur unexpectedly.

This was a powerful session! We and everyone else who attended felt the energy and we truly are grateful for the abundant blessings we continue to experience on this journey called Life!
